24 December: Christmas eve Photo shoot with my girlies by the trees!
Christmas Eve at Binghams. Starting at 5:00PM with dinner (fry bread), hayride and caroling in the neighborhood (there were about 35 of us) Hot Chocolate and donuts
Next was the gift exchange. Ryan and I LOVE to plan out fun presents on Christmas. We try and think of things that are really unique and personal and then get really excited leading up to the moment when they open it. About 2 weeks before, Kyle (Ryan's youngest brother who plays at mt view) got his first high school dunk during a BB game. One of the dad's from the team takes some great pictures and then shares them on a website. So Ryan and I heard saw them a couple of days before Christmas. We put them into a poster size (16 x 20) progression shot of the dunk. It turned out better then I expected. He opened it and LOVED it.
I got Brittney a really cute beaded watch with interchangeable heads that I found at a Christmas boutique. I wanted to buy myself one, but resisted. (the cool part is that my sister Denise had me for Christmas and bought me one for the Palmer gift exchange!)
For the cousin gift exchange Addilyn recieved a really awesome lipstick container that holds all sorts of papers, stickers, pens, etc. She LOVED it and carried it around for days.
Haylee recieved a tinkerbell dress up costume
both recieved new jammies from Grandma Muriel.
I got some mac makeup, lotions, and a cute wall cupboard for the house from Scott (okay probably from Chelsee his wife is more accurate!) Thanks Chelsee and Scotty! We visited and then packed up around 11:30 PM. Fortunately the girls were exhausted from playing and crashed quickly!
the grandchildren (missing 5) in their new jammies from Grandma Muriel!
Ryan and Julie Christmas Eve!
25 December: (The most magical day of the year!) The girls woke up and ran out to see their loot around 7:30 AM. They started checking out their stockings and the next thing I hear Addilyn come running down the hall to my room. She climbed up on the bed and shouted "I got my own bandaids!" She proceeded to show me a box of bandaids of varying sizes all for her!

Christmas was complete, Santa is brilliant... she needed and wanted nothing more! At that point I came in to the family room and we began opening presents and enjoying Christmas. Haylee got a new bike with a bell (apparently umbrellas like that are not really a regular thing for Santa) she was happy with the bike, but it ended up being a little too big. We reassured her that Santa lets moms and dads know where to take stuff back if it doesn't work or is too big. Addilyn also got her bell for her bike! Santa also brought a new little playset to the house for the family to enjoy, but everything was cold and damp so the girls just looked, with me promising that they could play on it later. Elyse got two sippy cups from her sisters and a baby my little pony from Santa. Ryan got me a new hose (I am always wanting to steal his for my flowebeds), socks, super cute wool jacket, and new snowboard gear (mine is about 13 years old!)
The girls loved every part of Christmas and after all the presents were opened, we packed up and went to my moms. We got there around 9:45 AM with lots of suprises to give. My Dad made yummy breakfast and then the mayhem followed, starting off with slow passing of presents by my dad, which progressed to a full free-for-all of presents flying through the air at rapid speeds, it is wonderful and chaotic! At the Palmers we do kids exchange and a couples exchange. (mostly the wives do the wives and the hubbys do the guys) This year we had my little brother John and his wife Lindsey. About a month ago we found out who we had and immediately Ryan knew he wanted to get a guinea pig for him. (he served his mission in Peru and they raise them on their roofs for food). So we found an awesome deal on Craigslist for a cage, pig and lots of food. It ended up being a cute little guy named Jasper with red eyes (they were Twilight fans) that we "babysat" for the month. He would squeek when you walked in the room and would eat hay. Ryan wrapped him up and put a plate with a fork and knife in the cage as a joke. It was a hit and John was totally suprised!
and a little dog nursery for Haylee. Elyse decided to snuggle with Brandon (Heather's hubby) the entire morning... she kept crawling over to him and then just sitting with him. She doesn't do this very often so it was so cute to see her playing.
After all the presents we had everyone go into the TV room and turned on my month long DVD project gift to my parents. It was like a wedding video that spanned from their births to July 2009. It was a huge project of finding, sorting, scanning, editing and compiling photos. Many of which my siblings nor I had ever seen. The opening shot is a wedding photo of my mom and dad... by baby photo number 3 of my mom, she lost it and started crying (which basically means that she LOVED it!). For the next 25 minutes everyone sat and laughed, pointed and talked about the past. It was worth every amount of sleepless nights and long days that followed for that moment... this is what Christmas is all about for me. The suprises! Things that seem impossible, coming true. After being there for a while, we went to Ryan's parents where we got to talk to Jordan on the phone (he is serving a mission in Guatemala). The girls got to open lots more presents from Grandma Muriel and Grandad. (clothes galore, paper doll set for Haylee. We hung out, played games, napped (Elyse was so tired and wouldn't really fall asleep, so Ryan took one for the team and took a nap with her!)
We ate and visited for the remainder of the day. We got home late Christmas Day full of memories of the day's suprises and fun. Sad that we have to wait another year before we get to do it all over again!

Christmas morning fun with cousins
26 December: Birthday party at the park the Bigler's baby Tinsley. Elyse and Daddy swinging... she does't love swinging but will tolerate if she can hold tight to daddy's shirt!
27 December: Elyse starts throwing up in the early hours of the morning any thoughts of going to chruch are out the window. Sent Haylee to church with the neighbors. Ryan and Haylee got home from church and Haylee and Addilyn and I went to Grandma Treat's house for some fun with the cousins.
28 December: Elyse to the doctor... double ear infections and bronchitis and more throwing up (fun for mommy!)
