Halloween Fun

Yes, they are late, but here are Halloween photos!
Haylee and Addilyn as Wendy (from Peter Pan) and Tinkerbell at my sister-in-laws trunk or treat party for her ward. She is their new ward party planner and she did a great job! This was the first trial run for costumes and Halloween fun and Haylee LOVED the booths and playing games to get treats. She really 'got' it this year. Addilyn on the other hand played a few games, said a cute version of trick or treat and then proceeded to stay right by Ryan and I and eat EVERYTHING in her bucket!

Well, about a month before Halloween my sister Katie, who is on WW student council, asked if Haylee and her cousin Michael would carry the crowns at WW homecoming halftime show, which was on Halloween. I told Haylee about it and told her that it meant that she would only be able to play a few games at the ward carnival, but that she would be able to carry the crown, wear a pretty dress, wear makeup, and be in the spotlight. We also were having a family party three days later in our backyard with all the same stuff as the ward party, so after hearing that she wouldn't completely miss out on all the fun and that she got to wear makeup, she agreed and was so excited. So on Halloween we got her all dressed up (she wore rag curlers in her hair all day in preparation!) and she went to the Ward carnival that was being held in my backyard and my neighbors. She didn't jump in the bouncer or do anything crazy to mess up her "real" crown. She was so concerned and such a good sport about everything. Then after getting some candy we left and went to WW where she got to ride in the back of the car, wave and walk down the carpet carrying the crown. She loved EVERY minute of it. Addilyn also was matching Haylee's attire including the crown and then at the last minute insisted that she wear "Tink" and there was no changing her mind. So Addilyn got to go and support big sister as Tink. Haylee did a great job and had so much fun. Here are some shots of the big night.

Striking a pose and looking so cute! Check out that hair... everyone kept asking if it was all hers and not a hair piece... and of course its all hers!
A photographer that was on the sideline captured these last two shots as my camera had trouble with all the lights and was kind enough to share them with me! (photo credit to Brant Clinard)

On the Monday following Halloween, we had the annual Lawlor Halloween bash (Ryan's extended family) at our house. We kept the monkey bridge up from the Ward party and our neighbor also left the bouncer and popcorn machine for us to use. Jeremy and Jill (brother and sister in law) also brought their shaved ice machine and we all got to enjoy the BEST shaved ice. Haylee loved every minute of the party. About 2 months ago Haylee told me that she wanted to be Wendy from Peter Pan and told me exactly how the dress needed to be etc. Well, I looked high and low and guess what... Wendy isn't really one of the sought after costumes, needless to say I had to make it. So my mom helped me pick up fabric, a pattern that looked like Wendy and gave me lots of support in making the dress. I was shocked that it actually turned out! Haylee was so excited and wore it everyday up till Halloween. She also planned everyone else's costumes. With her being Wendy, Addilyn was Tinkerbell with wings (according to Haylee's specifications) and Ryan and I appeared at Mr. and Mrs. Darling (hard to pull off being 8 months pregnant when Mrs. Darling is a skinny little worman). So we got creative, visited good will and made a map that is almost exactly like the one in the movie. (if you don't believe me then go and turn on Peter Pan and you will see). So here we are all together. Haylee was so excited that we all "went" together and had so much fun telling everyone that she was Wendy and not Cinderella. She played games, ate treats and played to her heart's content with her cousins. It was a perfect ending to all the Halloween festivities. So until next year, when I am sure Haylee will have another fun idea for costumes... enjoy!

Tink and Wendy

Ryan being such a good sport! He made a great Popcorn popper as well as the perfect Mr. Darling.

I love the whole family costume photo! So CUTE! Ryan is a good sport. you can tell that Haylee has him wrapped around his finger! What other guy would do that, without his adorable daughters motivation! :) Great job on the wendy costume. It really was impressive!
