On Saturday Ryan, myself, his brother Jeremy and his wife Jill went kayaking at the river. We left at about 6 AM with babies in the care of Holly (thanks Holly for babysitting) and took off for a little adventure. We typically tube down the river, but decided to try the kayaks this time as they go a little faster. It was so much fun. Ryan and Jeremy liked to get out and search for "Treasures." They find objects like slim jims in wrappers, cans, sunglasses, caprisun juice, etc. Jill and I basically stayed in the boats enjoying the sun, and scenery. Because we went so early, there were no annoying drunk tubers around us. It was so much fun!!!

A friend owns them and we just borrowed them.

That sounds WONDERFUL! I love floating down rivers in just about anything! Glad you had a great day.
We are going to try that in a few weeks at night. I am not sure how much I like the idea of doing it in the dark, but Jay and Damien have planned it so I just have to go along or plan it myself. I am glad to see that you enjoyed it!
Meg, I don't think that I could do this at night, for a few reasons... first I get scaredy in the dark water underneath the bridge. Second, I don't really like getting in the river, let along the thought of possibly flipping at night, would be greater... so Best of luck. I would recommend going in the morning.
