So on the 16th of July we drove home with my mom. When we arrived we found another surprise... meet Bonnie. She is a sweet old grandma horse that LOVES kids. Addilyn walks right up to her and she holds really still and lets her pet her. Addilyn always says "Bonnie loves me the best." The girls love to ride her and are getting quite good!
my little Addilyn cowgirl
Haylee loves to lead the pony with the rope
after we are done riding we always give the horses a carrot and without fail Addilyn will eat at least one of them. This time she decided to share with Elyse!
We originally bought 3 tickets for Wicked, one for each of us and then one for Haylee. When the night came, Haylee had come down with a really bad fever and cold. So my mom came with us instead and Haylee slept the night away... oh well next time, I guess. We were so happy that my mom came. We went to dinner with Jon and Denise and then to the show. I really enjoyed it, but near the end my Excedrin started to wear off and I could feel the cold coming on, so I would like to see it again when I am well. I really loved the music and now I know what goes where! Yeah for shows and dates with my man!
We stayed the weekend in Mesa. Haylee had a talk in primary and after church I drove up to the cabin and caravaned with my sister Elizabeth. It rained most of the rim road which got a little crazy, but we made it safe and sound to have another week in the cool country!
we found these little "slider candies" that the kids made believe they were video cameras, video games, cell phones, cameras, microphones, and whatever else they could think of...seriously the best $.50 we ever spent! It kept them entertained for days!
Elyse and Jaxon... sharing toys (Elyse just sat as he crawled all around her)
The primary up in the mountains was having a pioneer party, so we found an old sheet and a pillow case (Sound of Music Style) and made 6 skirts, 6 bonnets, 3 bandannas, and a dress. Kaylani and I were seriously so creative! Not to boast, but everything turned out awesome. So the day of the pioneer activity came and the kids had a ball with a parade, stick pulls, square dancing, and ice cream sandwiches. Good times at the cabin!
my little pioneer family (the girls loved wearing their bonnets for the rest of the week!)
stick pull
Elyse and Jaxon... little pioneer people!
eating ice cream sandwiches... almost pioneer treats!
Kaylani and I went to the store one day and this is what we found waiting outside... the dog was huge and looked like a person. I half expected a girl dog wearing a skirt to join him. It was weird!
While we were at the cabin Elyse turned 7 months...stats:
* petite but squishy (no scale or measuring tools at the cabin)
* has no teeth yet and no sign of them
* loves food and eating anything in site. always grabs at what you are eating, but loves baby food too! Zucchini with butter is her favorite, but she LOVES pears. She loves to feed herself best
* sleeps really well but can't hold her own bottle yet.
* laughs all the time and loves to get tickled
* she is not fussy about getting dirty
* loves her momma
*goes to bed by snuggling with momma
* listens very well with her eyes
* makes her momma very happy
* does not like getting clothes on
*sits very well and does not move if put in a sitting position
*scoots if put on tummy or back
*can roll from tummy to back and vice versa, but when rolling from her back to her tummy, she catches her arm and briefly gets stuck in the process.
We love our little princess and can't believe she is getting so big so fast!
After a week at the cabin we went home to get ready for Heather's wedding festivities. Ryan came by the cabin as we were packing up to go home and he was on his way to a Priest camp out at Big Lake. It was fun to see him. The drive went really well and I was all alone with no cell phone (it broke)... I felt so unconnected but I liked it!

Hey Julie!
You have the cutest blog, and even cuter girls. I love reading about your fun life.
Hey, I have a friend that is looking for instructions on how to make a nursing blanket. Is there any way that you would give them to me? I know you guys have been advertising them. She has the fabric and can't really afford to pay anybody to make it. Let me know. Love you, Em
