May 2010

The end of the school year and the start of summer... here's for documentation. beware it is a bit lengthy!

Ryan came into the family room and said... "Look I've become a middle aged man."  referencing the white sneakers and khaki pants.) I thought it was hilarious and had to snap a photo.  I guess that means that I am loving a middle aged man... and that is fine by me!
May 1- Grandpa Palmer's fishing derby in Pinetop. Don't worry it was FREEZING and snowy in the morning.  The girls each caught and fish. Addilyn got 2nd place for the longest fish in her age category ($10.00) and Haylee got third ($5.00).  Addilyn loved holding her fish.  We had a fun time and enjoyed being in the mountains. Thanks again for a great derby.

The Temple in Safford was having their open house so my friend Tera and her children, my two girls, and two of their friends all went down to Safford for a day trip to see the temple. We walked through and the girls all loved the big chandelier room the best.  We enjoyed the temple grounds and then went to Ice King a little local shave ice place with delicious frozen treats for cheap! We met Heather my sister who lives in Safford for a treat. Then drove home. It was a long day, but the kids did great. Thanks Mom for letting me borrow your car!

Haylee had her first gymnastics recital with Mrs. Debbie Gherkins on May 8. She is a great teacher and Haylee LOVES to go. Haylee posing in her cute "Burning Love" leo and Addilyn showing her skills.  She can't wait to start going when she is 4.

Haylee had her Lets Play Music Recital May 11 and did a great job playing her chords. She will now be in her 3rd year. She is amazing on the piano and I love seeing her little mind figure out new songs and chords. I am so proud of her.  Haylee with her class and teacher.

We went to Safford on May  13 to see Heather Graduate from Nursing school. It was a beautiful graduation with a few students and very personal. How fun to go to a school where they know your name!!!  She did a great job and will study for the boards this summer. I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished. My girls were very proud of their aunt Heather as well.  After her Graduation we went to the temple open house and walked through it again. The girls loved it even more now that they knew what to watch for.  It was a fun trip and so nice to be in the temple with my girls!

we had a bridal shower for Nathan's fiance Abby at my mom's house and I was so excited to do the decorations and all the sisters helped make the delicious food.  These were the little party favors. Abby is so sweet and Nathan and she are perfect for each other.  More photos are posted on my wedding/event planning blog

That night after the bridal shower we cleaned up and went to see Ballet Etudes Cinderella. I took Haylee and my two nieces Savanna and Kacie Harris.  It was a beautiful ballet. During intermission, we were getting a treat and someone came up and gave me tickets to backstage (normally you pay per person). So after the show, we went on the backstage tour where the girls got to meet Cinderella, and sit in the carriage from the show. They got to see props and the stage. It was so much fun! We were quite fortunate!

In other news in May I grew some tomatoes... not many, but enough to know that I am not completely incapable of growing something edible.
Joy school Graduation. May 16.. Yeah Addilyn! The kids say a song and wore these cute little hats. She is getting so grown up! Preschool here she comes.

Haylee finished playing T-ball and had her pizza party. It was a good experience and she loved it. She is very competitive and enjoyed playing the bases. Ryan got a tee and they have been practicing in the yard.  She officially has a trophy!
Addilyn and Haylee had their ballet recital with Mrs. Erica. They looked so cute and did such a great job.
Striking a pose

Elyse being so proud of her sisters!
Haylee LOVED her kindergarten teacher Mrs. Stradling this year. At the end of the year she had a little concert and was chosen to say the poem all alone. She did a great job.  Here she is with her teacher.

Grandma Lawlor (Ryan's grandmother) celebrated her 90th Birthday with all of her posterity at a huge part with tons of food, bouncers, pins, and a memory video that Kallee collected pictures from and we compiled into a video.  We played it on a big screen and she loved it!  We took lots of pictures and enjoyed the night.

The girls built a fort and then slept in it on the tile...they were so excited.  Don't worry I moved them to their beds

 What Time is IT?  Summertime...

spending the first day of Summer with some friends by the pool.  I love summertime and all the fun that is yet to come.
 Sisters with little sisters...
Sharing.

Summertime= butcher time. Ryan had his nephew Max come over and spend the night so that he could go and help with the cows. We loaded them in the trailer without too much difficulty and off they went the butcher. Goodbye Big Red and Coco.  Here is Addilyn in her jammies and boots looking skeptically at the cow through the trailor not quiet trusting the little metal bar separating her from this enormous animal. Smart girl.
So hurray for the butcher and hurray for fresh meat!

The weather got unusually cold and so we enjoyed an afternoon under a blanket in the backyard!  It was amazing for May!
