Carving Pumpkins

I found these two big pumkins at Walmart for 3.00 a piece... who can beat that! So the Monday before Halloween we carved pumkins. I bough two thinking that each girl might want to help pull seeds from their own pumkin. Not so. Haylee saw the insides and was completely disgusted. She wouldn't even get close to touching it. Addilyn (who I assumed would dive right in) followed Haylee's lead and wouldn't touch it either. So the night really went like this... Ryan cleaned out, drew and then carved both pumkins while the girls watched and ran around. Maybe next year Ryan. Thanks for doing such a great job carving the pumkins. They looked great!

Addilyn thought it was so fun to run underneath the table and watch Daddy carve the design.

Drawing out the design.
Addilyn watching the action
Haylee was drawing out the design for her pumkin, notice the lashes!!!
The completed projects.

So funny the difference between boys and girls. Pulling the guts out of the pumpkin was the best thing of Gordon's life.

And as if your girls are wearing little sundresses! It's November!

Gwen loved watching us do it, but I think it was only because she watched her teacher do it at school the week before. I love how girly Haylee is !

Yes, Jennifer, sundresses in NOvember only when it is 90 degrees outside. We can't really wear long winter clothes when we are still running our AC!
Yes, Allison, some of the seeds are still present... that is because Ryan and I were not really interested in making them perfect. Especially since I bought these battery operated pumpkin lights that flicker, so I don't have to worry about the house catching fire!
Haylee liked to watch, but when we put the seeds and guts near her, she freaked out!
