I love that we have a day set aside to be thankful!!!
I am thankful for my knees!
The day started with the turkey trot. No I have not really been training since my half marathon due to a little knee injury, but I have been doing some stuff. So we decided to go and do the 2 mile fun run, with the the babies in the stroller. We pulled them out of bed and got a great start to the day. Ryan got some of his family members to participate as well! Good job to everybody who participated. It was fun and fast, but it made me a little less guilty for what was to be eaten later that day!!! After the race I was a little worried about my knee injury but thanks to some great Physical Therapy by Tom Farsnworth I felt no pain! What a blessing.

Haylee got out and ran for a little while of the race (then she fell so we had her get out at the last 10 feet or so and run through the finish line. She even got a ribbon that she wore to the zoo later that day!). The Bingham runners!!! My little girlies with their blankets enjoying the ride!
I am thankful for my parents!!!
After the race we went to the zoo. My dad has been taking us to the zoo on Thanksgiving morning since I can remember. I think it started as a way to get us out of the house so my mom could get some cooking done. This year my mom and dad both were there and lots of the grand kids and their parents. It was a fun time. Thanks Grandma Treats and Grandpa! I am so happy to be able to have such a fun tradition now be a part of my family. This is a great time to visit the zoo as the animals move a lot and there is more action then when it is warm.
Some of the Grandkids. Heather and Braylin. At one point we were waiting for the train and Michael, Denise's son, came up to all of us with a nasty pigeon in his hands. He was holding it like a stuffed animal and would not let anyone take it from him. Here is a photo of Princess trying to pet the bird and Michael holding it tight. All the kids thought it was SO cool! I am thankful for family and food!
We had Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year for the Bingham family as they are in the middle of a remodel. We set up 3 long tables and a little kids table with china and flatware. We had a nice sit down dinner with everyone present. Muriel (my mother in law) made almost all the food and transported everything! The food was delicious and the company even better! It was so fun to have all the grand kids playing together and everyone just hanging out. We ate and then we ate some more! Thanks for such a fun day.
We also celebrated Jordan's birthday! Happy 19 Birthday Jordan!

Julie,
Congrats on the big day. That's so cool that you got to do it as a family!
What did you do to your knee? I am glad you are doing better!
:-)
When I was training for the half marathon, I was not doing enough strength training, so my muscles in my hamstring and quads were very weak and my knee cap was sliding off my knee. It didn't ever get to the point where damage was done as the most intense pain was on the actual race day. It is fine now, and I just make sure that I strength train those areas to support the stress on my knee.
