So I really must explain. At the beginning of the month of December, Ryan and I decided that we really wanted to focus Christmas around the birth of Christ, so we set out to explain the Nativity story to our girls. We used the Fisher Price Nativity set and told them the story. They got to help set up the people and animals in their place. After that moment, Haylee became consumed by the story and the people. She wanted to be Mary in all of the family party nativity creations and constantly played with all the nativity sets, allowing Addilyn to only have the shepherds, wise men, camels and occasionally Joseph. She carried the Mary and baby Jesus figurines in her purses (luckily they are not breaky). My mom gave her a book with pictures about the Nativity or "activity" as she calls it and insisted that we read it every day at least once. About 2 weeks into December, she decided that she needed a Mary costume, so that we could act out the nativity with our family. So I found a blue piece of fabric that was on sale and bought it for her veil. It is a little heavy, but she used headbands to keep it on. By this point she wanted to wear her Mary veil to bed and for play. If this was not enough my little sister Katie let her try on this long blue lace dress (remainder from a wedding party) and somehow Haylee convinced her to let her "borrow" the dress. This was the ultimate ensemble. She wears it to bed and for play whenever possible. We have come to a truce that she can't wear it to school, friends house or out of the car when running errands. It is for play and she loves it the best, because it is long (covers her toes) and can twirl high. So this is her Mary costume/dress up dress/Cinderella/whatever she wants it to be outfit and she loves it, So here it is in all its glory!
