We want to say THANK YOU!!

So last weekend (January 11-12), Ryan and I planned a last minute trip to Utah to snowboard on some REAL snow. No offense to AZ, but seriously, they had fresh powder! We flew up on Friday night about 5:00 PM and spent the evening getting to know the greater Orem/Provo area from a local's perspective, thanks to Scott Hawkes. He is a friend that Ryan originally met on the mission in Guate. (This is from a trip to Guate in 2005). We stayed the night at Scott's parents house. Thank you to Brother and Sister Hawkes. You were so kind to put us up on such last minute notice!
On Saturday, we got up and thanks to Brother and Sister Hawkes we had a hot breakfast and then we were off to the slopes. There was tons of snow EVERYWHERE. It seriously looked like the Christmas story street/house. I want snow, I know I know, I probably would only want it one time and then be sick of it, but seriously, it was so beautiful.

We drove to Brighton, got our gear on and went out for an amazing day of boarding!!!! I have NEVER boarded in so much powder. It was so much fun and not crowded at all with beginniners (no offense to the beginners, but they always stop right in the middle of a run!). The weather was warm and sunny, absolutely perfect, as I don't really like to board in the stormy weather! Call me picky.
After a full day of fun, we met up with my girl Amy and her man Ryan at their restuarant "The Porcupine". Thanks again for dinner guys, we really appreciate it, we had an awesome time. After a semi-rushed dinner due to a little traffic in the canyon, we hurried off to the airport. We turned in the rental car and got to the gate before they even started boarding!

When we got home, Addilyn was asleep and Haylee was up waiting for us. We couldn't have done such a fun last minute trip without Ashley (Ryan's sister). (Ashely and Jaden) She came and watched the girls for us. The house was clean, babies happy and she even managed to do several crafts with the girls. (I know she is amazing!) Thanks again Ashley, we are so grateful! You are wonderful.
So all in all it was a quick little get-away filled with lots of laughter, memories, snow, and good food! Thanks again Ryan for planning it and arranging everything (even if it was the night before we left, Thursday at 11:45 PM). It was much needed and so perfect!

Jelous!!! I want some of Ame, too! Looks like fun. I still need to teach Jake how to board, can you believe I haven't gone since we've been married, and he's NEVER been? Lame!

Hey Ju-
That looks like so much fun! The last time I went skiing I almost died! Needless to say, I've never been back... but we love the play in the snow. Bry especially loves to sled!
